1. Information we collect

• Details you give us — your name, mobile number, email address, number of travellers, travel dates and any preferences you write in an enquiry form, WhatsApp message, phone call or email.
• Booking details — for confirmed trips we also collect the information hotels and transport partners require, such as guest names, ages and government photo ID where a property or permit demands it.
• Technical data — basic, non-identifying information your browser sends when you visit this site, such as page views and approximate region.

We do not collect card numbers, bank details or passwords through this website.

2. How we use it

• To prepare and send you a costed itinerary, usually within 12–24 hours.
• To make and manage bookings with hotels, houseboat owners and transport operators on your behalf.
• To contact you about your trip before, during and after travel.
• To meet legal or regulatory requirements, including guest records that accommodation providers in Jammu & Kashmir are obliged to maintain.

3. Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary to deliver your trip — with the specific hotels, houseboats, resorts, drivers and activity operators in your itinerary. We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for third-party marketing.

We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect the safety of travellers and staff.

4. WhatsApp and messaging

Enquiry forms on this site can hand your message to WhatsApp so you can send it to our team. Once you send it, that conversation is also governed by WhatsApp's own privacy policy, which we do not control.

5. Cookies and analytics

This site uses no advertising or tracking cookies. If analytics are added later, this policy will be updated and the purpose stated here before collection begins.

6. How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept for up to 12 months so we can follow up on your trip plans. Records of completed bookings are kept for as long as accounting and legal obligations require, then deleted.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information and limit access to the staff who need it to handle your trip. No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive documents over unencrypted channels.

8. Your rights

9. Children

We do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18. Details of minors travelling with you are collected from the booking adult.

These terms apply to every enquiry, quotation and booking made with Al-Zaina Tour and Travels. By confirming a booking you accept them on behalf of everyone travelling in your party.

1. Bookings and confirmation

• A quotation is an estimate only. A booking exists once we issue a written confirmation and the advance payment has cleared.
• Rates are per person on the stated occupancy and are held for the dates quoted. Prices may change if your dates, hotel category, vehicle or group size change.
• Peak dates — Eid, Christmas and New Year, the tulip season and school holidays — may carry supplements set by hotels and transport operators.

2. Payment

• An advance is payable to confirm the booking; the balance is due before or on arrival, as stated in your confirmation.
• Pay only into the account named on your written confirmation. We will never ask for payment to a personal account over WhatsApp or SMS.

3. Cancellation and refunds

Cancellations must be sent to us in writing. Unless your confirmation states otherwise, the following scale applies to the total tour cost:

• More than 30 days before arrival — advance refunded less a processing fee.
• 15–30 days before arrival — 25% of the tour cost is retained.
• 7–14 days before arrival — 50% of the tour cost is retained.
• Less than 7 days before arrival, or no-show — no refund.

Refunds are made to the original payer and may take 7–14 working days. Third-party charges already paid on your behalf — gondola tickets, permits, air fares, non-refundable hotel nights — are deducted at cost.

4. Changes and cancellation by us

Kashmir travel depends on weather and road conditions. Snow, landslides, the closure of the Srinagar–Jammu highway or the Razdan Pass, and orders from the civil administration can all force a change of plan. Where that happens we will offer the nearest equivalent hotel, route or activity at no extra cost. If we cancel a trip outright for reasons within our control, you receive a full refund.

5. Your responsibilities

• Carry valid government photo ID for every traveller; hotels and checkpoints in Jammu & Kashmir require it.
• Foreign nationals must carry a passport and valid visa, and follow any permit requirements for restricted areas such as Gurez.
• Arrive at the agreed pick-up times. Costs caused by late arrival or missed transfers are yours.
• Tell us in advance about medical conditions, mobility needs or dietary requirements so we can plan realistically — several destinations sit above 2,500 m.
• Behave lawfully and respect local customs. We may end a trip without refund where a traveller's conduct endangers others.

6. What is included

Your confirmation lists exactly what the price covers — typically accommodation on the stated plan, airport pick-up and drop-off, a private vehicle with driver for the itinerary, and the named activities. Unless written there, the price excludes air fares, gondola and pony charges, union taxis to Aru, Betaab, Chandanwari and Thajiwas, entry tickets, personal expenses, tips, travel insurance and anything described as optional.

7. Hotels and houseboats

Standard check-in is 12:00 noon and check-out 11:00 am unless stated otherwise. Hotels named in an itinerary may be substituted with a property of equal or higher standard if they become unavailable; we will tell you before arrival. Category descriptions follow local classification, which can differ from international star ratings.

8. Transport

Vehicles are provided for the itinerary agreed, not for unlimited use, and are not at your disposal overnight. Drivers follow permitted routes and legal driving hours. Some roads are restricted to local union vehicles, which are charged separately at the point of use.

9. Liability

We act as a booking agent for hotels, houseboats, transport operators and activity providers, and we select them with care. We are not liable for loss, injury, delay or damage caused by those independent suppliers, nor for events beyond our reasonable control — weather, natural events, strikes, road or airport closures, civil disturbance or government order. Our liability in any case is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected service.

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical treatment and evacuation.

10. Photography

We may use trip photographs for our own promotion. Tell us in writing if you would rather we did not, and we will not use images of your group.

11. Complaints

Raise any problem with your trip manager immediately so we can fix it while you are still in Kashmir. Claims made after travel are much harder to resolve. Written complaints should reach us within 30 days of your return.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir.
